As I stretched my body, I had aches in places I’d never felt before, and it was amazing. I thought James and I had experienced all there was in the bedroom, but man was I wrong. Last night was out of this world, and I couldn’t wait to explore more with him.
James yawned and kissed my neck from behind. “Morning beautiful.”
“Good morning to you, handsome.” My stomach growled, and he wrapped his arms around me.
“Looks like my wife needs some breakfast. Let’s order in.” He rolled over and grabbed the phone off the side table but quickly put it back down. “There’s no dial tone.” He got up and checked the cord, but it seemed the line was just down.
“We can get dressed and head downstairs. It’s fine.”
He smiled down at me. “Sounds good. I’m starving and need some coffee.” He kissed my forehead.
The restaurant was packed when we arrived. They informed us it’d be a half-hour wait, but that we could sit at the bar in the meantime. Coffee was at the top of our wish list anyways, so that worked out just fine.
“Hey guys, feeling a little rough today?”
I looked over to see Jenna and Alex standing behind us. I swallowed the first sip of my coffee before responding, “Yes, extremely tired. How are you guys? Did you have a good time last night?”
“We did. Are you guys waiting for a table?” Alex asked.
“Yes, they said it would be a while, but we don’t mind since we have coffee. Riss here gets a little cranky without caffeine.” James laughed as I smacked him playfully on the stomach.
Jenna smiled at us sweetly. “You guys are welcome to join us. Our buzzer just went off, and we’d asked for a booth, so we have room.”
James looked at me in question.
“Sure, that would be great. Thank you.” I hopped off the stool, making sure to grab my coffee.
We sat down in the booth, the guys opposite us girls. The waiter took our order almost immediately, and although I wanted to order the whole menu, I refrained.
Jenna turned to me with a smile. “So, what did you think of last night? I assume it was your first event?”
“Yes, is that something the hotel does every year? Everyone seemed so friendly. It was definitely a great start to our Valentine’s.”
She took a sip of her coffee before explaining. “Starter is a company that’s been around for years. They host events like that on the regular. This one happened to be on Valentine’s Day weekend, but it doesn’t have to be. It’s just a way to meet like-minded couples in your area.”
“Oh, that’s nice. I hadn’t heard of it before. An acquaintance of mine booked this weekend for us. I had no idea what was included, but we’re definitely glad we went.”
Alex cleared his throat. “Would you guys be interested in more parties like that? We have a great group of friends that get together regularly.”
I looked at James, who had a confused look on his face that most likely mirrored mine.
